Inside Stories: EDAN Supply Chain Push to the Limit Fighting COVID-19

As COVID-19 cases increase worldwide, the global demand for medical equipment is sharply rising, followed by huge pressure to EDAN Supply Chain System. The whole department went all out, working non-stop. Supporting them behind is the same mission: producing more equipment to hospitals and ease their strain.

Production

Our production capacity doubled since the outbreak. All workers are at full stretch, just to make more devices for frontline caregivers. After repeating the same moves for long hours, they still are able to maintain the high precision required by their job. They are proficient in their own field and are fundamental in this battle.

Warehousing

While COVID-19 swept the globe, the logistic ecosystems are turned upside down. To cope with such a change and ship the cargos out as early as they can, sometimes our warehouse workers need to wait until midnight to pack and load the goods. Shenzhen’s hot weather is another challenge for them, both mentally and physically. But they have those people in need in mind and never complained.

Production Material Control

PMC plays a vital role during COVID-19. They are the ones that ensure a smooth and uninterrupted flow of production by maintaining adequate quality and quantity of materials. To ensure everyone on the same page always, daily morning meetings are held to brief all the members.

Everyone in EDAN’s supply chain is acting as a part of the running gear, fearlessly and relentlessly. The sense of responsibility is what sustains them for such a long fight. Just as one of our PMC colleagues said, “All the patients around the world are waiting. If we can get our devices out earlier, they might suffer less.”
