Inside Stories: End Users are Always the Top Priority

As the COVID-19 pandemic went viral, the cleaning and disinfection of medical devices, which can be life-changing, became a realistic problem. EDAN responded to the problem quickly, offering multiple choices to avoid cross-infection, including providing easy-to-clean devices, using disposable test cartridge, and integrating the diagnosis with our IT solutions, etc. This partially owes EDAN’s R&D department.

Industrial Design

Our industrial designers not only focus on artistic appearance and its ergonomics but also will take clinical needs into consideration. They bridge the technology with our end-users, spending a huge amount of time researching, observing, and analyzing the needs, which enables them to quickly catch the demands and apply it to our products. Thus, some might surprise on the thoughtfulness of our products on sterilization because it was embedded in our product design even before the outbreak.

Testing processes ensure the devices are fully functional before they were released to the public. The product quality and durability are guaranteed under their hand through tons of tests like aging and EMC. Cleaning and disinfection are also an important part. The outbreak let the whole industry learn the importance of cleaning and disinfection. Keeping this in mind, our R&D team steps up the standard for our new devices so that they can be adopted in frontline hospitals seamlessly.

IT Solutions

During the outbreak, EDAN’s IT solutions provide caregivers an effective tool accessing patients’ data and making diagnosis remotely. It showed us how we use technologies to overcome human limitations. Absorbing such an experience, our engineers work on upgrading and perfecting the software. One faith is in their mind, “caregivers protect patients, and we are here to protect them.”

Understanding the needs and trying perspective-taking is fundamental and crucial to the product development process. And our engineers performed it well. Seen improving the human condition as EDAN’s core value, they manage to put our end users into the top priority in every process.
